We are extremely excited about our progress to rescue the historic 1906 lodge and return it to its original use as a “boarding house” (the city’s term for the historic inn).  Designed by famous architects Hebbard and Gill, the building has been neglected and abused for many years.   We plan to bring it back to life, even grander than before!

In September 2005, the Lodge was approved as a Coronado Historic Resource, joining over 100 other buildings in town.  In March 2006, we were thrilled to hear that our application for National Historic Designation passed its first test.  The building has been declared “a good example of Craftsman architecture” and “the best remaining example of boarding houses that were once prominent in Coronado.”

This summer will submit our final rehabilitation plans to the National Park Service and hopefully be approved for national historic status.  Only one other Coronado property, the Hotel del Coronado, is currently on the register.
