City of Coronado Issues Ban on Smoking in Most Public Areas

July 17, 2013

After a 6 hour City Council Meeting last night, the Coronado City Council voted 4-1 to ban smoking in most public areas of Coronado.  The ban will include outdoor dining areas on public property, on all sidewalks, and within 25 feet of outdoor dining areas.  The ban does not cover any privately owned outdoor dining areas like McPs Pub or the Coronado Yacht Club.

La Jolla based firm purchases Coronado Plaza for $21.5M

July 15, 2013

SCP Coronado Real Estate sold the Coronado Plaza building, located at 1330 Orange Avenue for $21.5 million to the La Jolla based Paragon Real Estate Fund.  Coronado Plaza is located across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado and contains Subway, Dominoes, Viggiluccis Restaurant and The Tavern, amongst others.

Congratulations to Jenny Moore, new Principal for Coronado High School

In a letter to the community, Coronado Unified School District Superintendent, Jeff Felix announced that Jenny Moore has accepted the position as Principal for Coronado High School!  Jenny Moore attended Coronado Unified School District as a student before becoming a teacher, then Assistant Principal of Coronado High.  She and Karl Mueller, the outgoing Principal, were an amazing duo that the community has benefitted from tremendously.
