Friday Favorites: Irish Bars

You'd be forgiven if Irish culture isn't the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about San Diego. Given our southern neighbors, America's Finest City is probably more associated with tacos al pastor than corned beef & cabbage. And that's understandable. But March 17 is St. Patrick's Day, a day when everyone gets to pretend they're Irish. As such, you should celebrate in appropriate fashion: with a cold pint of beer and good company.
1107 Orange Ave, Coronado 92118
Coronado Local hot spot. Enjoy some classic pub food with a drink or two out on their dog friendly, heated patio. Stop by between 3-7pm and catch local band "Midlife Crisis" rocking some classic tunes. Good food, good music, good beer, what else could you need?
903 Island Ave, San Diego 92101
Half Door Brewing Co is a “pub” in the traditional Irish countryside sense of the word - a place where beer is made and served fresh. Half Door was built to celebrate the Emerald Isle tradition of a pub having its own brewer, and its own unique brew. Stop by to try their “Pot O’Golden Ale” that was featured in this week’s Pacific SD Magazine!
544 Fifth Ave, Gaslamp 92101
Decked with original pieces shipped from Ireland, The Field is set to hook you up with a belly full of food (Guinness beef stew, corned beef and cabbage) and a mouth full of Irish whiskey, Scotch malts, and a special selection selection of beer mixers, like their Blacksmith (Guinness over Smithwicks). The homey interior is perfect for leisurely afternoon and dinners.
3373 Adams Ave, Normal Heights 92116
This Irish-owned and -run bar, is one of the most genuine Irish bars in town. Come take advantage of their newly opened (as of today) beer garden and patio where they will have live music and keep the Guinness flowing!Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
