Monday Night Football in Coronado - Best Places to Catch the Game
Posted by: raindrop 7 years, 4 months ago
The San Diego Chargers are kicking off their 2012 season with a Monday Night Football game.
The game starts at 7:15, giving you plenty of time to get home from work to get ready for the game. If you're looking to catch the game at a bar in town, here are some recommendations of places to watch it:
Extended Monday Night Happy Hour:
Costa Azul: "Costas" as many locals call it, has all day happy hour in their bar and have multiple TVs to catch the big game. If you want to sit at the bar, there are approximately 12 bar stools in addition to multiple tables within the bar. Costas is known for their margaritas, which are strong and inexpensive during happy hour. Get there early for a seat.
Nicky Rottens: Nicky Rottens has a happy hour on Mondays from 3:00pm-CLOSE which makes the sports bar a great place to catch the Monday Night Football game! The bar can now accommodate under 21 patrons in their non-alocholic section. Nicky Rottens is a newer favorite for locals with its multiple TVs, large projector screen, and excellent happy hour with a large selection of food. Nicky Rottens fills up fast, so get there early for a seat.
Traditional Happy Hour:
Grumpy Dan's Grill (Coronado Golf Course): The Golf Course restaurant has an excellent happy hour if your are looking for inexpensive well drinks. While they also have inexpensive food, most of it is bar-food. The happy hour is from 3:00-6:00pm.
The Brigantine: "The Brig" is a long-time favorite for locals to catch the football game. They have 2 TVs on either side of their bar. On Mondays their happy hour is from 3:00-10:00. The lounge (bar area) fills up fast because this is also a favorite for tourists. The bar is open seating, and is the only area in the Brig that has TVs.
The Tavern: As far as I know, there is not a special happy hour for Monday Night Football at the Tavern, but that could change. Presently, their happy hour is from 3:00-6:00pm on Mondays. Don't forget that The Tavern is a great place for late-night food, with their reverse happy hour Sunday-Thursday from 10:00 to close!
McPs: McPs has happy hour from 4:00-6:00pm and they have 8 TVs throughout their bar (with some viewable from the outdoor patio!).
Bistro d'Aisia: Bistro is my favorite restaurant in Coronado. When I go inside, I don't even ask for a menu because I know I'm going to order the Mongolian Beef and some appetizer. Their happy hour is from 3:00-6:00 and they have TVs in the bar area. There is typically enough seating, but I always recommend getting their early for the best view of the TV.
