Sand Diego Labor Day Weekend Fun!
Posted by: kateg 5 years, 3 months ago
Fun is guaranteed for all ages at the U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge and 3D Art Expo Friday through Monday, 9AM – 7PM.
The downtown San Diego waterfront is the venue for the annual sand sculpting contest that attracts artists from all over the world. 300 tons of sand will be dumped on the ‘B’ Street Pier, and transformed into amazing sculptures, some as large as 35 tons. Joining the sand artists will be a host of other 3D artists, displaying their work in metal, glass, resin, clay, wood, leather, fabric and gemstones.
And for more fun: On stage, enjoy live bands, singers, dancers, and circus performers. Get your thrills on a zip line and the European bungie ride. Kids can play in the sandboxes and learn to build sandcastles. 10 gourmet food trucks will serve meals, beverages and desserts all day long.
If you’re coming from Coronado, be sure to take the Coronado Ferry to avoid traffic and parking hassles. It leaves on the hour starting at 9:00 AM. For more ferry info see http://www.sdhe.com/coronado-ferry.
Tickets must be purchased on site. See more information at: http://ussandsculpting.com/schedule.php#sthash.WUe4FhtQ.dpufShare on Twitter Share on Facebook
