The Blind Burro brings back its “Taco Fights” showdown this month: a battle between two of San Diego’s top chefs showcasing their best taco creations. The tasty event features two new chefs every Thursday night. Don’t miss this week’s Championship Fight: Chef Miguel Arreguin of Coasterra versus Kevin Templeton of Barleymash versus Lety Gonzalez of Uptown Tavern. Patrons can order from the Taco Flights Menu, which includes a Taco Flight Plate for $9 and drink specials like the $7 Espolon Cadillac Margarita, to name a few items.

Mission Trails Regional Park

Weather permitting, the San Diego Astronomy Association (SDAA) will host another one of its free stargazing sessions at Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP). The group meets every fourth Friday of the month at the MTRP West Sycamore Staging Area located at the east end of Stonebridge Parkway in Scripps Ranch.

Cost: Free!

Each brewery will pair five of their beers with five Girl Scout Cookies for mouthwatering match-ups. Food trucks will also be at the brewery this weekend, including Crabcakes 911 and Ye Olde Grilled Cheese & Tater Tot Shoppe on Friday. Portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to the Girl Scouts of San Diego whose mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Tidepooling Adventure with Birch Aquarium

This week: False Point

Visit a local tide pool to learn how these amazing habitats and their inhabitants truly survive “between a rock and a hard place.” Birch Aquarium’s trained naturalists will show you how to tread lightly during your visit and how to protect and preserve these natural wonders. The optimal season for tidepooling is November-March when minus tides reveal wider beaches and tidepools teeming with life.

Cost: $16 non-members, ages 2+

Arts, entertainment and culture collide for Macy’s Museum Month in San Diego. This February, the San Diego Museum Council and Macy’s have teamed up again for Museum Month, giving patrons a chance to discover what’s new at more than 40 area museums with savings only seen once a year.

Participants can pick up a Museum Month Pass at any area Macy’s store to enjoy half-off admission to all of the participating museums through the entire month of February.

Passes will be available beginning February 1 at all San Diego, Temecula and Imperial Valley Macy’s. Find the store nearest you.

Guests with a pass can bring up to three people to participating museums to receive half-off admission for the entire party. Additional fees may apply for special exhibitions.

Remember to keep your pass all month long and explore a few new museums!
