Flower Show weekend is here, and it’s one of those times when the whole island feels a little more alive. Spreckels Park fills up, everyone’s out walking, and you start running into people you haven’t seen in a while.

There’s a lot happening, both in the tents and around town.

If you live over the bridge and haven’t been before, this is the weekend to come over. It’s small-town charm in the best way.

The 104th Annual Coronado Flower Show

April 18–19 | Spreckels Park

Two days of floral displays, garden installations, live music, a beer and wine garden, and a full marketplace. The Coronado Flower Show is the largest tented flower show in the U.S. and one of the island’s longest-standing traditions.

Thursday, April 16 | 4:00–5:30 pm | Coronado Community Center (Nautilus Room)

A hands-on workshop where kids create their own entries for the Flower Show using fruits and vegetables. Recreation staff are there to help, which makes it an easy one for younger kids.

Flower Show Kick Off: Movie Night Featuring The Jungle Book

Friday, April 17 | 5:30–8:30 pm | Spreckels Park

One of the best ways to kick off the weekend. Bring blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for a movie under the stars, along with games, face painting, a costume contest, and food.

Youth Flower Show entries can be dropped off from 4:00–5:00 pm. Activities begin at 5:30 pm, with the movie starting at 6:30 pm.

1922 Club Gala – The Velvet Jungle

Saturday, April 18 | 7:00–10:00 pm | Spreckels Park

The Flower Show after dark. The 1922 Club Gala is the weekend’s 21+ event, set under the tents in Spreckels Park with music, cocktails, and a more dressed-up evening feel.

It tends to sell out every year, so it’s worth planning ahead if you’re thinking about going.

Rise & Bloom Sound Bath

Sunday, April 19 | 8:30–9:30 am | Spreckels Park

Insider Tips for Flower Show Weekend

  • Go early on Saturday if you want to see the exhibits before it gets crowded
  • Sunday mornings feel noticeably calmer than Saturday
  • Do NOT skip the mens exhibit, especially if you have a good sense of humor
  • Parking fills up quickly around Spreckels Park, so plan to walk or bike if you can
