Easter in Coronado

There’s something about Easter in Coronado. The homes around town start to look especially polished in preparation for the Flower Show the following weekend, and the weather is usually warm with that perfect sea breeze.

Personally, I love how Coronado has “enough” activities on Easter without being a full circus of events, the way the Christmas holidays can sometimes feel. It’s a holiday focused on family, with just enough community mixed in.

If you’re starting to think about Easter plans, I thought I’d round up some of the events I know about.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Rec (Sold Out for 2026)

Saturday, April 4, 2026 | 9:00 am | Rec Center Nautilus Room

Enjoy a breakfast buffet in the Nautilus Room at the Community Center. Children can create crafts, spin the prize wheel, visit with the Easter Bunny, and participate in an Easter egg hunt.

Tickets are $20 for kids and $25 for adults.

Sunrise Service at North Beach

Sunday, April 5, 2026 | 6:00 am | North Beach

For over 30 years, Resurrection Church has hosted a sunrise service at North Beach. A bonfire blazes as the sun comes up, with live music from Crown City Chorale, musician Russ Peck, and the Coronado Ukulele Club. It’s one of those Coronado traditions that’s hard to fully describe until you’ve experienced it.

All are welcome. Dress warm and bring a beach chair.

If you’re looking for a more traditional Easter service, most local churches around Coronado offer morning services throughout the day. Below are a few options:

Easter Brunch

Enjoy a brunch in the historic Crown Room with everything from classic breakfast dishes to seafood, sushi, carving stations, and an incredible dessert display. Guests 21+ receive a complimentary glass of champagne.

All brunch guests are invited to participate in the beach Easter egg hunt.

How We’re Planning the Weekend

As I look ahead to Easter weekend, I’m mostly looking forward to being outside as much as possible. The weather is supposed to be beautiful, which always makes the whole weekend feel easy.

We’ll likely keep Saturday simple, maybe some time by the pool or around town, and then do an at-home Easter egg hunt Sunday morning before heading to church and a relaxed brunch at one of the local hotels.
